Properties: Myrrh is a powerful antimicrobial, astringent, expectorant, antifungal, stimulant, carminative, stomachic, anticatarrhal, diaphoretic, vulnerary, antiseptic, immune booster, circulatory, tonic, anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic.

Kurt Schnaubelt, Ph.D wrote in The Healing Intelligence of Essential Oils (p. 133) that 1 drop in water can be taken for gums and pain and inflammation.
Contraindications per Tisserand: Pregnancy and lactation.
Topical: Dilute with a carrier oil, unscented lotion or cream and apply on area of concern or as desired.
Internal: The quality of Myrrh is suitable for internal use within safe parameters, if such use is deemed appropriate. Kurt Schnaubelt suggests that a drop can be taken in water for pain, inflammation and gum issues.
General: As with all essential oils, never use them undiluted, in eyes or mucus membranes. Do not take internally unless working with a qualified and expert practitioner. Keep away from children. If applying an essential oil to your skin always perform a small patch test to an insensitive part of the body, after you have properly diluted the oil in an appropriate carrier.
